MIDDLETOWN -- A Wesleyan University student has earned the 2005 Rhodes Scholarship for Malaysia.
Cheryl Lim Sze-Hui, a senior sociology and psychology major from Kuala Lumpur, was the only student chosen from 58 Malaysian applications.

"I feel incredibly thankful and lucky to have been offered this amazing opportunity," said Sze-Hui through a Wesleyan press release.

The scholarship will allow Sze-Hui to attend Oxford University graduate school, where she plans to pursue a master’s degree in comparative social policy. Her two-year scholarship will cover all college fees and as well as a monthly living allowances.

She plans on doing advocacy work with a non-profit organization specializing in women and children’s issues upon graduation from Oxford.

The scholarship was created after the death of Cecil Rhodes in 1902. One of the oldest and most prestigious international fellowships in the world, the scholarship allows students to study at Oxford University in England.
