Railroad Grade Trail

Rated: Easy to Moderate
21 miles
Elevation: 9,140' - 9,200'

This trail is part of the "Rails to Trails" program designed to preserve America's old railroad network by turning the rails into trails. The old Apache railroad beds carry hikers through tall aspen and ponderosa, across the Little Colorado River and over a trestle bridge.

From Rt. 260 to Big Lake, this trail takes a full day by bike, but can be broken up into sections for a more enjoyable pace.
