Monday, July 30 8:30 a.m. Transport Officer responded to Mary Greeley in Ames to pick-up a mental patient to go to Court in Boone for hearing. 9:42 a.m. Deputy Pontius responded to a residence in the 1300 block of Oriole Rd., report of the theft of two rings, believe could have been taken as far back as October 2011. 11:00 a.m. Transport Officer took a prisoner from the Boone County jail to the Polk County Jail. 3:51 p.m. Deputy Pontius responded to a motorcycle vs. car accident at old 30 near the river bridge. No serious injuries were reported. Investigation continuing. 9:32 p.m. Deputy Ruter responded to a complaint of a vehicle in the ditch in the 400 block of E Ave, Paton. Driver Jay V. Clausen, 59, of Ogden was arrested for OWI 1st. No damages were reported to the vehicle. Tuesday, July 31 10:14 a.m. Transport Officer transported a mental patient from the Boone County Hospital to Mary Greeley in Ames. 12:15 p.m. Deputy Godzicki responded to a complaint of vandalism to a vehicle parked at the QF Lane Parking area. A car window had been shot out, damages were estimated at $500 for a windshield. 8:34 p.m. Deputy Gray investigated a single vehicle roll-over at R18 and 335th St, Perry. Driver Kathleen A. Penner, 32, of Boone was north bound when she said that she swerved to miss an animal on the roadway, lost control and rolled her vehicle into the east ditch. Penner was not injured and damages were estimated at $3,000 to a 2007 Dodge. Penner was arrested for OWI 1st. Wednesday, August 1 7:20 a.m. Deputy Godzicki responded to a complaint of trespassers on Union Pacific property at E Ave and Highway 30. Arrested for trespassing were the following. Gregory N. Beylin, 22, of Brooklyn, N.Y. Jesse R. Beeley, 22, of Pittsford, N.Y., Christopher M. Rowe, 29, of Panama Beach, FL., Lawrence T Trotter, 39, of Portland, OR. 8:06 a.m. Deputy Godzicki took a report from an elderly woman from rural Ames, she had received a card in the mail telling her she had won some money, and she needed to call a number on the card, she did so, and they asked for credit card number, which she gave them. Now she is getting bills on her credit card and no money. This should be a reminder about these scams, never give any financial information over the phone, you should never have to give any such information, also do not give up your social security number as this could result in an identity theft. 9:00 a.m. Chief Deputy Elsberry executed a writ of ejectment at 711 5th St. apartment 1. 10:58 a.m. Deputy Godzicki responded to a complaint of dogs that were running loose in the area of the 1500 block of 331st Dr., Madrid Humane Society. 6:13 p.m. Deputy Zeutenhorst responded to a suicide that took place in the City of Madrid, part time Officer on duty in Madrid needed assistance, Deputy assisted and did the investigation for the Officer no foul play suspected, took place in the 300 block of S. Cedar. 7:03 p.m. Deputy Gray responded to a complaint of burn victim in the 700 block of L Ave, Boone. Brenda Frank, 46, of that address was burning her garden off when she apparently got her legs and arms caught of fire. Fire was out when Deputy arrived, Ogden Fire responded, along with Boone County Ambulance. Air Ambulance was dispatched from Mercy in Des Moines. Thursday, August 2 9:12 a.m. Deputy Godzicki responded to a domestic situation in the 500 block of Joy Ave., Fraser. Arrested for domestic assault was Blaisze Win-Bushore, 19, of Boone. 10:16 a.m. Deputy Godzicki began an investigation of a complaint of a loan taken out in a rural Ogden residents name without their knowledge. Identity theft investigation continuing with the loan agency. 8:54 p.m. Deputy Zeutenhorst made a traffic stop at Highway 30 and 17. Driver was tested for OWI and passed, passenger Valarie M. Johnson, 35, of Creston was cited for open container of alcohol in the vehicle. Friday, August 3 12:40 a.m. Deputy Zeutenhorst checked out suspicious activity at the Waterworks boat ramp, NW of Boone. Mindy L. Schaffner, 19, of Boone was arrested for possessing drug parapharnilia, and Tyler G. Moore, 21, of Boone also charged for possessing drug parapharnilia. 7:41 a.m. Transport Officer transported a mental patient from Mary Greeley in Ames to court in Boone for a hearing. 3:01 p.m. Deputy Godzicki responded to a complaint of a man under water near the Waterworks dam, NW of Boone. 68 year old male was reported to have fallen in the river next to the dam, and did not come back up. Search and Rescue dispatched, along with assistance was called from Story and Carroll County dive teams. Boone Fire and Boone Ambulance were on scene as well as Boone PD. At approximately 5:20 p.m. the body of the man had been recovered near the dam in the river. County Medical examiner was called to the scene. Phoubane Phommasen, 68, of Nevada, IA was pronounced dead at the scene. Individual had been fishing and fell into the river. 3:20 p.m. Deputy Godzicki was called away to another call of a personal injury accident at R18 and 300th. Driver Amy M. Rankin, 50, of Ames was west bound on E57 and then onto L Ave when she lost control and rolled her vehicle into the ditch. Rankin was taken by ambulance to Mary Greeley in Ames with minor injuries, investigation continuing with charges pending. Assisted by the State Patrol. Damages were estimated at $3,000 to a 1991 Toyota. 6:29 p.m. Deputy Gray responded to an alarm sounding at the Western Edge in eastern Boone County, 2200 block of 229th, Ames. It was a false alarm. Saturday, August 4 2:01 a.m. Boone County Hospital reported that they had a mental patient that had been ordered to be transported to Mary Greeley Ames. Deputy Gray transported the male to Ames. 6:05 a.m. Deputy Fangman and Godzicki assisted the city of Boone with a missing 2 1/2 year old boy from a residence in the 1200 block of Meridian. Search and rescue called out to assist and DCI was called at 7:30 a.m. The child was reported to have done this in the past but is always located. Child was located in the city of Boone at approximately 8:30 a.m. all okay. 8:12 p.m. Deputy Gray responded to a domestic situation in the 2300 block of Pear Lane, Madrid. No arrests made all verbal. 10:54 p.m. Deputy Fangman responded to a complaint of loud music coming from a residence in the 1300 block of 267th, Ogden. Deputy asked the residents to quiet down. |
