Jim and Kelly Hummel, the couple in charge of the transportation system at the Panorama school, resigned as of June 27.
Interviews are slated for a new transportation director to replace Jim Hummel. Supt. Kathy Elliott earlier reduced the transportation secretary's position (Kelly Hummel) to half-time and dropped an allowance given Jim Hummel for use of his own tools. Also, he was given the added responsibility of a van route.
Elliott said the transportation secretary will not be replaced. Rather, duties will be parceled to current staff members.
In the meantime, driver Kristi West is in charge and local mechanics will handle any repair or needed maintenance.
Spanish teacher Piet van der Meer is the ninth faculty member to resign, going to Valley of West Des Moines. Succeeding him is Trisha Niceswanger, a native of the Carroll area.
Veteran elementary secretary Zola Snyder is retiring to spend time with family.
