Lampe defeats Tasler in primary

      Rick Lampe of Ogden garnered 68% of the votes compared to 31% by Madrid's Richard Tasler to win the Republican nomination for Boone County Sheriff. He will join Gregg Elsberry (D) on the ballot this November as the two vie for the office vacated by retiring Sheriff Ron Fehr.
      Unofficial results from the Tuesday, June 5, 2012 primary election show Lampe with 1,098 votes and Tasler with 507.
      None of the other offices on the ballot were contested.
      Official results will be published after they are made available.
