Two motorists had to deal with deer in their paths on area roadways the past week.
      According to the Guthrie County sheriff's department Robert Miller of Adair was westbound on Highway 44 west of Guthrie Center when his vehicle collided with a deer last Thursday around 1:08 p.m. Damge to Miller's 1999 Chevy S-10 pickup was estimated at $2,500.
      Sheriff's investigators reported a 1999 Dodge Durango driven by Misty Gilbert of Stuart struck a deer in the roadway Saturday at 2:35 a.m. She was westbound on While Pole Road approximately 2.5 miles of Stuart when the mishap occurred. Damage to her vehicle was estimated in the neighborhood of $1,600.
