Olson to run for former house seat

Ogden City Administrator Donovan Olson

      Ogden City Administrator Donovan Olson's name will appear on Democratic Primary ballots in the newly drawn Iowa House of Representatives District 47 which includes most of Boone County and all of Greene County.
      The 46-year-old previously represented the Ogden and Boone areas under the gold dome, but lost his seat to Republican Chip Baltimore in 2010.
      "Being a politician is not a career, it's a public service," Olson said. "I feel there is a lot of important work to do that isn't getting done by the legislature right now."
      Neither Olson nor Baltimore have primary challenges and will face each other in the November 6 General Election.
