City administrator Lisa Grossman reported at the city council meeting May 14 that construction on the new municipal building is scheduled to begin May 21.
A pre-construction meeting was set for May 17 involving all the participants - contractors, city staff, project manager and architect-engineer. Grossman said a portion of NW 2nd will be closed during construction.
By a 2-1 vote, the council approved a preliminary statement of entering into loan agreements to purchase two new fire trucks and an electric lift truck and to finance the new municipal building. Of the three council members present, Steve Pote and Andy Carson voted yes and Stew Firebaugh no. A special meeting was set for May 21 to finalize financing of the trucks and building.
