The Guthrie County Sheriff released details of two mishaps this week. Tuesday, May 1, 9:00 p.m., Holly Jensen, Menlo, was eastbound on 340th Street just east of Stuart when she swerved to miss a deer, losing control of her vehicle, crossing center line and entering the north ditch, taking out a fence owned by Jerry Dickson, Stuart. Jensen then left the scene, reporting the accident the next day. She was cited with failure to maintain control of her vehicle. Damage to her 2004 Chevy Impala was estimated at $6,500. Fence damage was estimated at $850. Wednesday, May 2, William Jacoby, Menlo, was southbound on Redwood Avenue approaching the intersection with the Monteith Road when he became distracted after dropping a lit cigarette. Jacoby drove through a stop sign and the "T" intersection, impacting the south ditch embankment. He was cited with failure to obey a stop sign. Damage to his 2004 Chevy Silverado pickup was estimated at $5,000.
