      Panorama's girls and boys track team both finished in third place at the Panorama Relays Thursday.
Girls
      "This was a good meet and there were many great performances, especially Karlee Johnk's sub-60 second 400 anchor in the sprint medley," commented coach Greg Thompson.
      Panorama established five season bests in the meet which was its final tune-up before Thursday's state qualifying meet at Roland-Story.
      The baton quartet of Chelsea Kirtley, Sidney and Brooke Beckman and Johnk set a new meet record in winning the 4 x 200 relay in 1:51.47.
      The sprint medley (Morgan Woodvine, Kirtley, Sidney Beckman, Johnk) also captured first place with a 1:55.01 clocking.
      Panorama scored big in the field as Shelby Lane won both the shot put, 32'4.75", and discus, 106'9", and Sidney Beckman the long jump, 15'11.75".
      Adding points in the field were Brooke Beckman, third in the long jump, 15'2"; Kelsey Wood, fourth in the shot put, 31'4.25", and sixth in the discus, 82'7"; and Brenna Hafner, fifth in the high jump, 4'4".
      On the track, the Lady Panthers got third and fifth places from Johnk and Woodvine in the 100 meters, 13.28 and 13.76. Hafner ran fourth in the 100 meter hurdles, 16.84, and Bailey McAllister was fourth and India Sparks sixth in the 400 meter hurdles, 1:11.84 and 1:15.26.
      The 4 x 100 relay (Sparks, Emily Neel, Kylie Ahrendsen, Brook Beckman) placed third in the 4 x 100, 54.42. A fourth place finish was recorded by the shuttle hurdle relay (Hafner, McAllister, Maddie Wagler, Sparks) 1:11.71.

Boys
      Four season best performances were established by the Panthers who ended in a third place tie.
      Hunter Simmons ran a meet record 4:45.38 in the 1600 meters for the Panthers. That was Panorama's lone first place finish.
      Luke Webner had a couple of individual second places, shot put 44'9", and 100 meters, 11.50.
      Cody Stepanek placed second in the discus, 135'2", and Webner third, 120'8".
      Chase Hennen sprinted to third place in the 100 meters, 11.59, and the 200 meters, 23.35.
      Scoring fourth place points were Josiah Moulds, long jump, 19'3.75", and 110 meter high hurdles, 16.54; Marcus Boldy, shot put, 40/0"; and Webner, 400 meter hurdles, 59.04.
      Panorama finished fourth in the 4 x 400 relay (Daimean Canfield, Moulds, Blake Hoffman, Simmons) 3:45.69; fifth in the medley (Jesse Haworth, Konner Faux, Justin Firebaugh, Brody Stogdill) 4:16.21; sixth in the shuttle hurdle (Dalton Dorsett, Haworth, Gavin Richey, Moulds) 1:09.34; and sixth in the 4 x 200 (Canfield, Faux, Haworth, Hoffman) 1:40.33.
      Josh Cobb picked up a sixth place point in the 400 meters, 1:02.84.

TIGER INVITATIONAL

With West Central Conference track powers Madrid, Des Moines Christian and Earlham in the field, Panorama did well to finish fourth in the 15-team Tiger Invitational at Guthrie Center Monday.
      Freshman Luke Webner and sophomore Chase Hennen ran season best times in the 200 meters as they copped first and second place in 23.14 and 23.17.
      Hunter Simmons posted another strong performance in winning the 1600 meters in 4:48.38.
      Hennen raced to a third place in the 100 meters hitting the finish line in 11.75.
      Also notching a third place was Cody Stepanek in the discus with a fling of 134'11".
      Webner collected fourth place points in the shot put throwing 44'4.5".
      Scoring sixth places were Josiah Moulds, long jump, 18'11.5", and Daimean Canfield, 400 meters, 57.19.
      Panorama placed in only two relays. The 4 x 200 (Hennen, Blake Hoffman, Moulds, Webner) ran fifth in 1:36.73 and the 4 x 400 (Canfield, Moulds, Simmons, Webner) finished sixth in 3:46.29.
      The Panthers had one season best performance and had seven events that were better than the year before.
