GUTHRIE CENTER BOYS GOLF

      With usual low scorer Patrick Ahrens sidelined, Tiger golfers found themselves struggling last week where they usually would have pulled out wins.
      Saturday at Lake Panorama, the Tigers finished sixth in a nine team field, 65 strokes behind South Hamilton.
Medalist honors went to South Hamilton's Jordan Sogard with a 76. Two teammates, Austin Heeran and Trevor Ullestad fired 79's.
      Runner-up was Des Moines Christian's Chris Sturdivant with a 77.
      Guthrie was paced by Gavin McGivney with a 87, Payden Willms 91, Chris Shroyer 94, and Caleb Wulf 109. Also shooting for the Tigers were Zeb Osen 112 and Keaton Rhoades 114.
Nodaway Valley
      The Tigers and Wolverines of Nodaway Valley were deadlocked at 177 after nine holes in Greenfield Monday night, but fell by five strokes in a one hole playoff.
      Medalist honors went to the Wolverines' Jake Speer at 40. Keaton Rhoades brought home the first medal of his career as runner-up at 42.
      Other Tigers adding to the final score were Zeb Osen 44, Gavin McGivney 45, and Chris Shroyer 46.
      Shooting non-scoring rounds were Jared Baier 50, Jared Berger 52, Brandon Tharp 52, Dustion Bush 53, Dalton Grove 54, Tommy Herron 55, Caleb Wulf 57, Gunner Imerman 59, Lane Rumelhart 65, Jeb Dowd 66, and Joe Chrostek 72.
Panorama/ Jefferson
      Tuesday night the Tigers beat host Jefferson-Scranton, but fell by seven strokes to Panorama. Final scores were 177-184-190.
      Panorama's Hunter Grunsted took home medalist honors with a 39. Tiger freshman Chris Shroyer earned his first medal shooting a 41 as runner-up.
      Also scoring varsity for the Tigers were Caleb Wulf 45, Gavin McGivney 48, and Zeb Osen 50.
      Non-scoring Tigers included Jared Baier 49, Keaton Rhoades 52, Jared Berger 52, Payden Willms 53, Dalton Grove 55, Tommy Herron 55, and Dustion Bush 56.
