The GCHS Lady Tigers took a small step backwards Thursday night against Exira-EHK at the Green Briar Country Club, losing by 19 strokes, 226 to 245.
"We were without two of our normal starters," commented Tiger Coach Joe Smrdel, "so for three of our girls, it was the first time they had ever played at a course other than Guthrie Center. Considering that, I think we performed pretty well. It was a real learning experience for all of the girls."
Taking medalist and runner-up honors were the Spartans' Cody Bissen (46) and Kara Collin (56).
Leading the Tigers was senior Kennedy Nelsen, who shot a 59. Nicole Eivins shot a 61, Tyra Wickland 62, Mallory Osen 63, and Emily Sheeder 74 to round out the field.
