In two meets the past week, Panorama's boys were consistent as they scored 75 points at AHST (Avoca) Thursday and 69 Monday at Carroll. Gold medal winners at Avoca were Luke Webner, 400 meters, 53.93; Cody Stepanek, 110 meter high hurdles; and the 4 x 100 relay (Chase Hennen, Stepanek, Josiah Moulds, Webner) 45.49. Webner placed second in the 400 meter hurdles, 1:00.03, and third in the high jump, 5'8". Moulds, Jesse Haworth, Gavin Richey and Dalton Dorsett ran second in the shuttle hurdle relay, 1:10.30. Josh Cobb placed in three distance events for the Panthers. He was third in the 3200 meters, 11:26.48; and sixth in the 800 meters, 2:27.49, and the 1500 meters, 5:25.74. Stepanek placed fourth in the discus, 135'6", and tied for fifth in the 100 meters, 11.36. Moulds collected fourth place points in the long jump, 18'1.5". He tied for sixth in the high hurdles, 17.05. Sixth place points were scored by the 4 x 200 relay (Konner Faux, Haworth, Justin Firebaugh, Blake Hoffman) 1:44.58; the 4 x 400 relay (Hoffman, Faux, Firebaugh, Haworth) 4:05.43; the distance medley relay (Faux, Hoffman, Haworth, Richey) 4:28.21; and Marcus Boldy, shot put, 40'3.5". Carroll Team scoring from Carroll was not available, but Panorama did finish with 75 points. Cody Stepanek won two events and Luke Webner tied for first in another. Stepanek had the best discus throw, 140'4", and skimmed the high hurdles in 15.74 for another 10 points. Webner tied for first in the 200 meters with a 23.67 clocking. Stepanek was sixth in the race, 24.52. Hunter Simmons and Josh Cobb ran second and sixth in the 3200 meters, 11:05.25, and 11:38.81. Simmons added a third place in the 1600 meters, 5:06.73. Webner took third in the 400 meters circling the oval in 54.52. Josiah Moulds and Webner scored third and sixth place points in the long jump, 17'8.5", and 16'11". Moulds claimed fourth in the 400 hurdles, 1:01.69, and fifth in the high hurdles, 17.08. Finishing third was the shuttle hurdle relay unit of Moulds, Jesse Haworth, Gavin Richey and Dalton Dorsett, 1:09.66. Two Panther relays placed sixth: 4 x 100 (Haworth, Blake Hoffman, Justin Firebaugh, Dorsett) 49.78 and 4 x 400 (Haworth, Hoffman, Firebaugh, Cobb) 4:05.73. Cobb was named outstanding performer. Coaches noted only three seniors competed and that freshmen and sophomores contributed greatly. Two season bests and 15 personal bests were set. The boys next scheduled meet is April 20 at Winterset.
