OXFORD - The Board of Education recently approved a three-year contract with the Oxford Administrators' Association that provides for no increase in salary the first year, a two-percent salary increase the second year and a 2.5 percent increase the third year.The OAA comprises the principals, assistant principals and the director of special education in the town's four-school district.Representing the board in negotiations were Debbie Sherman, Paula Guillet and Jerry Schwab.
The president of the OAA is Oxford High School Principal Frank Samuelson.
The contract becomes effective on July 1, 2010, when the current three-year contract expires.
According to its terms, a three-step schedule based on experience provides for a salary of $101,052 to $112,281 for assistant principals in 2010; $105,268 to $116,963 for elementary school principals; $109,476 to $121,639 for the middle school principal and special education director. The salary for the high school principal in 2010 is $130,292.
Effective July 1, 2010, the board will pay 85 percent of the insurance premium for an Health Savings Account plan. The contribution will drop to 84 percent in 2011 and to 75 percent in 2012.
The board also will pay 100 percent of the annual deductible for employees and/or their families, effective October 1, 2010.
The contract also provides that each administrator receive 30 days of vacation each school year, plus 15 legal holidays and up to three personal days.
The vacation and personal day provisions are the same as in the contract currently in effect.
A copy of the contract, along with a copy of the board's contract with the Oxford Education Association, is available for perusal in the office of the town clerk at Town Hall.
