Christmas News
The Christmas season is just around the corner and that means it is time for the annual festivities.
Four years ago, the Loris Business Women's Club began the annual Tour of Homes and this year the tradition will continue. Plans are in place for five homes and a church to be toured and enjoyed on the first Thursday in December.
The annual fundraiser of the club is used to provide scholarships to young women seeking a business degree.
On December 3 at 6 o'clock three homes in the Loris area, two homes in Long Bay and Ebenezer Church on Highway 905 will open their doors for your enjoyment.
The Todd home on Allen Road in the Fox Bay area and the Dew and the McElveen homes both on Rogers Road are three of the stops on the tour.
In Long Bay, the Rutkowski and Esper families are preparing for the night of Christmas fun.
Refreshments and Christmas music will be provided at Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
Tickets for the tour can be purchased from any Business Women's Club member. Call Linda Morrison at 716-7161 for information or ticket purchases. Tickets can also be purchased at the Loris Chamber of Commerce.
The Loris Farmer's Market has moved to Friday from 2 to 6 and now includes Christmas decorations and gifts. The Loris Chamber of Commerce hopes that Santa Clause will visit during the weekly event. During Thanksgiving week the Farmer's Market will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday to accommodate those that want fresh vegetables for the holiday feast.
The Chamber of Commerce is also planning the Christmas parade. Applications are currently being taken for the parade that will begin at 6 o'clock on December 4.
Area businesses are preparing for the holidays as well. During a time of recession retail businesses count on the holidays.
