A Memorial Service for Michelle Renee Olmic' will be held at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov.12, 2009 at the River Oaks Community Church, Elkhart, IN, Pastor Scott Tilley presiding. An 11:00 a.m. committal service will be held Saturday Nov. 14, 2009 at the Kalona Cemetery, Kalona, IA. Condolences may be sent to yoderculpfuneralhome.com. A memorial fund is established to provide for Jade's future educational needs.
Michelle, five months pregnant with a baby girl, Lelia, fell suddenly ill while at home, Saturday, Nov. 7 and died shortly thereafter at Elkhart General Hospital.
She was born June 12, 1971, in Iowa City to Don L. and Isy (Vander Werf) Miller of Elkhart, IN. She graduated from Iowa Mennonite School in 1989, and Goshen College in 1993, receiving a degree in elementary education. She also held an associates degree in accounting. She married Armin "Archie Omic' on Feb.10, 1996 in Bosnia. She was a most loving, devoted mother to her daughter, Jade Isabella, age 4.
Besides her husband, currently serving with the US Army in Iraq, she is survived by her parents, her daughter Jade, two brothers, Tony (Leah) Miller, Goshen, AJ (Bonnie) Miller, Foley, MN her maternal grandmother, Martha Vander Werf, Newton, KS, one niece, Madison Miller and one nephew, Quinn Miller both of Goshen, IN.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Emina , and one brother, Don Miller, Jr.
