The Bradford High School and Bradford Middle School cross country teams competed at the Buchholz Last Chance Invitational on Oct. 31, with the girls taking second place out of approximately eight schools. Girls' results (BHS and BMS) were: Amanda Hall (23:16), Autumn Rodgers (23:39), Deanna Jordan (24:22, PR), Christina Jordan (24:44), Kayla Garlo (24:58), Tiana Sheffiled (27:43), Ronda McCormick (28:00), Kaylen Chitty (29:26) and Lauren Williams (36:56). Bradford's combined boys' results were: Andy Merrill (18:07), Ian Waters (20:31, PR), Thomas Nguyen (22:05), Marcus Thompson (22:13), Zach Davis (22:18), David Weeks (22:20), John Gillenwaters (22:28), Wyatt Griner (24:03), Evan Coleman (26:11), Scott Thomas (27:14), Juwan Crum (27:43, PR), Sebastian Curtner (29:25, PR), Alec Harden (29:26), Ronald Rogers (29:48, PR), Jason Griffis (29:49) and Cody Varnes (37:20). The high school runners will compete in their district finals Thursday, Nov. 5, at Bishop Kenny High School in Jacksonville. Coach John Loper wished to express his thanks to coaches Harden and Urfer, the Starke Golf and Country Club for hosting the schools' annual invitational, the bus drivers for transporting the teams and to all the volunteers and parents who have supported the team in any way.
