Health Dept. to offer H1N1 clinics
Right now the Clay County Health Department isn't taking names to put on the list for H1N1 flu vaccines, but as soon as the Health Department has the shots available, it will offer them at weekly clinics, health administrator Dana Rickley said. The open clinics will be 4-6 p.m Thursdays. Rickley said to check to kdheks.gov to see what priority group the shots will be targeted at each week. On that site the health department will also post how many shots it has. On the Kansas Health and Environment web site, people can preregister for the H1N1 vaccine and find more information on H1N1. They can also call the Health Department at 632-3193 or e-mail healthy@nckcn.com. Clay County Medical Center public information officer Marcia Newell confirmed no deaths in Clay County have been attributed to the H1N1 flu.

I have checked the website kdheks.gov and it does say the health dept and Patterson's have the vaccines. But it does not show either the target group each week (it lists the priority groups but not if there is a specific target each week), nor does it list the number of vaccines they have. I wish the media/local health officials would try to give accurate information on this subject. It may help allieviate some of the tension if there was not such confusion and conflicting information!
