"Big" the musical will be presented by the Ogden High School drama and music departments Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 12, 13 and 14 at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Reserve tickets by calling the high school office at 275-4034
"Big" the musical is an adaptation of the 1989 movie starring Tom Hanks. The musical appeared on Broadway and was rewritten again for the national tour.
Young Josh Baskin is the focus of the show. Unhappy with adolescence, he wants to grow up. His wish is granted by a carnival fortune telling machine and the fun begins.
The next morning Josh wakes up as a thirty-year-old man. Josh, played by Ashton VanSickle, is then mistaken for a kidnapper by his mother played by Becca Duncan.
He runs out of the house and into his best friend Billy Kopecki played by Deon Ashby.
Josh manages to convince Billy that he is indeed, Josh his best friend.
Needing a job, Josh finds a toy company that is in real trouble. The founder of the company played by Luther Thompson thinks that Josh's unique perspective will save them.
Struggling with being an adult, Josh hooks up with Susan Lawrence and an unusual romance ensues. Josh, knowing nothing about girls, and Susan, played by Chelsea Germer, finds his innocence charming and refreshing. A lot of comedy, dancing and singing bring us to an unusual ending.
