HEARTSafe WASHINGTON -

Washington became the 39th town in Connecticut to receive the HEARTSafe Community designation from the state Department of Public Health, Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention Program during a recent presentation at the Washington Firehouse.

HEARTSafe designations are bestowed upon municipalities for community-wide efforts to meet the program's requirements for CPR training, availability of automated external defibrillators and pre-hospital advanced life support.
