IT'S CHEER FUND TIME AGAIN
10/29/2009
Sign up your family or make a donation.

The Belmond Cheer Fund Christmas tree will soon be set up in the mall by P&G Supermarket. It is a sign of caring from Belmond citizens for families with low income or unusual financial circumstances so that they can have a happy Christmas. Hanging on the tree are ornaments describing the age and sex of local children and their wishes for Christmas gifts.
People in the community may participate by stopping by the tree, selecting one or more ornaments from the tree, purchasing the gift desired, wrapping it, attaching the ornament to the outside of the package, and taking it to the Belmond Public Library. All gift donations should be at the library by Friday, December 11 so they may be organized for delivery the week before Christmas.
Cash donations can be made to any area pastor or deposited directly into the Cheer Fund account at Northwest Bank. These donations will be used to help buy gifts not donated, and to buy food certificates for eligible families so they may enjoy a nice Christmas dinner. When you drop off your donation, please indicate that the money is for the Belmond Cheer Fund.
Families may register their children at Trinity Lutheran Church weekdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. until Monday, November 30. Be prepared with clothing sizes, an idea of a gift or toy under $25 appropriate to the child's age, and some verification of address.
To be a recipient, a family should have needy children through age 13 who live in the Belmond School District. You will be asked to provide proof of address at the time of registration. All names are kept confidential.
This project is sponsored by the Belmond Ministerial Association and the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority of Belmond.
