Keidin Hasbrook, the son of Stan and Emma Hasbrook, was born May 27 with spina bifida at Salina Regional Health Center.

A fund-raiser is being held for Keidin on Thursday, Oct. 29, Friday, Oct. 20, and Saturday, Oct. 31 at Kier's Thriftway. Ham sandwiches for $1.50 each will be sold 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.

An on-air auction will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, on KCLY 100.9.

Keidin was airlifted to Wesley Medical Center after birth. He had repair surgery done on May 28. He spent a week in Wesley Medical Center, and the family knew more surgeries were to come.

They have traveled back and forth from Clay Center to Kansas City and Wichita for doctor's appointments and more. In August the family traveled to have Keiden's kidneys checked out. In September they went to Wichita to have a shunt put in place.

The family has no health insurance benefits. All proceeds from this fund-raiser will be used for medical and travel expenses.

Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, Republican River Chapter No. 30307 is providing $750 in matching funds for Keidin.

Anyone wishing to make a donation to Keidin can send it to: Keidin Hasbrook c/o Union State Bank, P.O. Box 518, Clay Center, KS 67432. Anyone wishing to help with this fund-raiser or donate items to the auction are encouraged to call Linda Underwood at 632-6233 (home) or 632-0369 (cell).

Please give this fund-raiser your prayerful consideration. Please keep Keidin and his family in your prayers as he continues to struggle with his health issues.
