To the Editor:
Throughout this election season I have listened to each of the candidates share their plans for our town. Each time I asked myself why would I vote for this person? Will this be the person/team to make the positive changes Brookfield needs right now?
The Brookfield Democratic Team headed by Bill Davidson and Howard Lasser has said that they have a vision for the future. That vision includes many things that I wholeheartedly support.
They want to approach the budget process based on need and value, gaining consensus and working from a long-range plan. This is something that I think has been missing from our town over the past several years.
Both Bill and Howard have demonstrated that they not only have the experience to bring competent change to Brookfield but also have an attitude that puts the town concerns ahead of politics. I think it is about time for us to vote people like this into office.
I hope you will join me in voting line B on Nov. 3.

Brookfield
Considering Brookfield's declining financial situation, deteriorating roads and faltering support for our children, it is surprising that the Republican Party nominated two members of the Board of Finance for promotion to the top positions in town.
As financiers, Bill Tinsley and Steve O'Reilly along with petitioning candidate Ernie Nepomuceno failed to support education, underfunded road maintenance and left the town weaker financially than when they took office. As candidates they now promise to solve Brookfield's problems, talking up a brighter future than the present they helped create.
This is why many Republicans, like myself, are supporting Bill Davidson for first selectman and Howard Lasser for selectman. They are the candidates who recognize the value of education to the community as a whole, and understand the importance of fiscal responsibility.
Their opponents say that Brookfield's schools are "adequately funded" even though Brookfield's change in educational funding during the past two years is among the lowest in the state.
Davidson and Lasser are successful businessmen and proven leaders. The town's finances were strong when Bill and Howard served together on the Board of Finance but have sadly declined since.
Bill Davidson has realistic plans to rebuild our roads and to upgrade our recreational facilities without increasing taxes. His vision includes building the long-delayed Still River Greenway within the next two years and finding new revenue sources to reduce our dependence on residential property taxes.
Brookfield needs strong and effective leadership. Vote for Bill Davidson and Howard Lasser (Row B) Nov. 3.

To the Editor:
Bill Davidson proved his ability to lead during the six years he served as chairman of Brookfield's Board of Finance.
Throughout his tenure, education and roads were not underfunded, town employees were not underpaid, and the future was not neglected. In fact, while they were on the Board of Finance, he and Howard Lasser, his running mate, built up Brookfield's capital fund without breaking the back of Brookfield taxpayers.
His opponents, Bill Tinsley and Ernie Nepomuceno, can't make that claim. The capital fund actually shrank during their tenure.
Bill has realistic plans for the future, and he has explained how he'll implement them. He knows good schools are a basic foundation of a good community and that a verifiably solid school system increases home and property values.
One of his opponents has no vision for the future; the other is promising he'll do things he voted against in the past.
What's important to you? Who do you think will be the better leader for Brookfield as we face and plan our future as property owners, citizens, and neighbors?

To the Editor:
We have an opportunity to change the downward and negative turn our town has taken over the past several years. The Democratic candidates, headed by Bill Davidson and Howard Lasser offer us that opportunity.
Their team is made up of both unaffiliated members and Democrats, people who place their concern for the community above politics.
The roads, our recreational facilities, our water issues and our commercial development have all been neglected for far too long. The infrastructure of this community needs to be looked at with a long-range view. Bill and Howard have ideas and plans that will make that happen.
They will help us meet our responsibility to our children to provide them with a public education, fully funded so our schools can have the resources they need to meet Brookfield's high standards.
Vote Nov. 3 for Row B and bring our community together to move forward with the most competent leadership ever.

As Brookfield's elections draw near, it is important for parents and Brookfield citizens to ask questions and educate themselves on the past performance of all candidates running for the position of first selectman in our town.
Ask yourself if you were pleased with decisions made concerning this year's school budget by two candidates who served on the Board of Finance.
Bill Davidson believes in the value that education brings to our community and has a proven track record in his

To the Editor:
I first met Bill Tinsley and Steve O'Reilly, over 15 years ago while working together during a first selectman's election, and over the years I have spoken with both of them about the town and its politics whenever I would run into them.
At each such meeting they have both taken the time to speak with me about what ever subject I was interested in, and would give me their opinions on situation.
Most often we are on the same side of the issues, but not always. During the times we have differed, both gentlemen were always polite and respectful of my views, and have taken them into consideration during our discussions.
These are the type of people Brookfield needs to lead us today.
What I like most about Bill Tinsley is that he has carried the Republican flag and supported the party's candidates not just on a local level but also at the state and national level, even when others have deserted it. I believe this town needs to get back to its traditional Republican values, and Bill Tinsley and Steve O'Reilly best represent that.
I know both men are devoted to this town we all love so much, and would make a great team as are town leaders. I would ask that you support and vote for them on Election Day.

To the Editor:
I would like to express my belief that Bill Tinsley is the best candidate as first selectman for Brookfield at this time and in this environment.
I make this endorsement not only because I believe that Bill has the intellect, vision and leadership qualities essential for the role of first selectman , but as someone who has witnessed Brookfield develop over the past 50 years, very often with no clear direction.
As a member of Brookfield High School's very first graduating class and the second class to ever graduate from St. Joseph School, I feel somewhat qualified to at least share my perception of the Brookfield for which I have great admiration.
Brookfield, being in a geographically enviable position with proximity to I-84, New York and within reasonable driving distance to a number of major Connecticut cities and airports, is an ideal place to live. While it has, over the years, attracted a number of businesses, the uncertain future and ever-escalating costs for everything just add to the potential tax burden challenges the residents of Brookfield are likely encounter.
I believe that Bill's extensive experience as an executive with a well-known multi-national corporation on a global level has provided him with many of the skills required to effectively analyze issues and obtain and manage the necessary resources to successfully resolve or improve them. After leaving the corporate world, Bill also invested his own resources to build a successful business in Brookfield and has experienced first-hand a number of issues that challenge local business people.
It is important now, more than ever, that Brookfield's next leader is someone with Bill's vision and clear objectives and who will seek support and counsel from others to help in their implementation. It is my opinion that Bill Tinsley exemplifies that philosophy and will execute the responsibilities of first selectman with sincerity and a high level of commitment.

To the Editor:
In my many conversations with Bill Tinsley, the Republican candidate for first selectman for the town of Brookfield, I have come to respect and appreciate his leadership style and skills.
He is a classic textbook manager, what management gurus like Deming and Jurand believe are skills vital to success. He believes in visions, trust, team work, empowerment, quality improvement processes, and cost containment.
Bill's extensive education, business experiences, management style and participation in key roles here in our Brookfield town government clearly are what Brookfield needs.
My vote is for Bill Tinsley for first selectman.

Brookfield needs a leader who will pull us together. Bill Tinsley is that leader-he sees a successful, happy community that values the needs and contributions of all.
Schools are important, but not just schools. Roads are important, but not just roads. Parks are important, but not just parks. Economic development is important, but not at any cost to the community look and feel we want.
It's not just the kids, or the parents, or the seniors, or any other group or interest for that matter. It is the total picture-Bill gets it.

Having lived in Brookfield for over 30 years I can't remember a time when we have had three very qualified candidates running for first selectman. Each of these three people would be a good choice-we are very fortunate.
Bill Tinsley is the right leader at this time. Bill Tinsley will bring fresh ideas, fresh leadership and he has the right experience.
Add to this a deep love for Brookfield and you have a great combination.

We've known Bill Tinsley for many years. He has the vision, plan, leadership attributes and energy to help Brookfield achieve its potential. It is his character and caring personality that completes the total package.
I personally worked with Bill and know him to be an honest, hard-working individual who weighs all sides of an argument, gives it careful thought and consideration and manages to get things done.
He is our choice for first selectman in Brookfield, and we think would be a real asset for all of Brookfield.

I am writing to encourage my Brookfield friends and neighbors to cast their first selectman vote for Bill Tinsley, Steve O'Reilly for selectman and the entire Republican team.
Bill, Steve and the team clearly recognize the pragmatism required for guiding us through a bad economy. They have the experience and leadership skills to do it.
More importantly, Bill, Steve and the rest of the Republican team have a real positive outlook and vision for Brookfield's future that is compelling. I believe they can accomplish this vision for Brookfield and intend to help Bill and the entire team to get it done.
It is my sincerest hope that you will help also.

Bill Tinsley cares about Brookfield. He has shown it over the years with his volunteer service and his contributions to so many of our local organizations.
He also knows how to set priorities and, in my opinion, has a clear view of what is important for our town-now and in the future.
I encourage my friends and neighbors to support him for Brookfield's first selectman.
