James Loren 'JJ' Vest III, 19, of Wellman, died Sunday, October 4 2009 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Services were held Thursday, October 8, 2009 at the Asbury United Methodist Church in Wellman with Matt Freel officiating. Burial was in the Wellman Cemetery.
James Loren Vest III was born September 22, 1990 in Iowa City, the son of James L. and Julie (Clark) Vest, Jr. He graduated from Mid-Prairie High School in 2009 and was attending Kirkwood College in the construction management program. He worked for Pat Cady Construction. He enjoyed cars, trucks, riding his dirt bike, golf, and bow hunting.
He is survived by his parents, James and Julie Vest, Jr. of Wellman; sister Jamie Vest of Wellman; grandparents: Beverly (Mam) Vest of Wellman and Jim Clark of Ocala, Florida; great grandmothers: June Clay of Arizona City, Arizona and Helen Rotzinger of Bettendorf; an aunt, Tammy Vest of Wellman; an uncle: Jerry Suchomel of North Carolina; and several great aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, James L. Vest Sr. and great-grandparents: Fred Clay Sr. and Anna Clark.
A general memorial has been established.
