Amos T. Miller, 70, of Kalona, died Friday, October 2, 2009 following a brief illness. Services were held Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at the Amos T. Miller residence in rural Kalona. Minister in charge was Willis Yoder. Burial was in the Peter Miller Cemetery.
Amos T. Miller was born January 29, 1939 in Johnson County, Iowa, the son of Tobias J. and Ruth V. (Yoder) Miller. He was baptized in his youth in the Old Order Amish Church and remained a member until his death. He was united in marriage to Elsie Miller on December 7, 1961.
He is survived by his wife Elsie Miller of Kalona; children: Verda Mae and husband Wayne Nisley of Lockridge, Iowa, Vernon and wife Nelda Miller of Riverside, Erma and husband James Bontrager of Kalona, Cephas and wife Irene Miller of Kalona, Ervin and wife Regina Miller of Kalona, Ethel and husband Jerome Bontrager of Kalona, Lester and wife Kathleen Miller of Kalona, Alton Miller of Kalona, Emery and wife Edna Fern Miller of Kalona, Edith and husband Elmer Yoder of Lockridge, Iowa, Cecil and wife Verna Miller of Kalona, Nelda Miller of Kalona, Floyd and wife Miriam Miller of Kalona, Rachel Miller of Kalona; 76 grandchildren; 9 brothers, Alvin, Elmer, Paul, Eldon, Simon all of Kalona, Jerry of Pearisburg, Virginia, Henry of Kalona, Perry and Earl of Windsor, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two nieces and two nephews.
Yoder-Powell Funeral Home of Kalona was in charge of the arrangements.
