The town of Watertown has recently signed an agreement with CGI Communications which will result in the production of a series of online videos highlighting features of Watertown and Oakville to residents, visitors and businesses. The video will come at no cost to the town as CGI Communications expects to offset costs through advertising.A letter from Economic Development Coordinator Joe Seacrist stated, "their video showcase will engage viewers in learning more about area attractions, economic development opportunities, quality of life, and so much more." It continues, "In addition, CGI will be contacting members of our local business community to offer participation in the program."
In cooperation with CGI, the Economic Development Commission has produced a tentative script which will define what facets will be underscored and what features of Watertown and Oakville will be showcased.
The script outlines an introduction, with a welcome by Town Manager Chuck Frigon, and the history and character of the town will be discussed with selected imagery.
Watertown's education system will be featured, noting recent school renovations, Taft School, and the nearby University of Connecticut and Naugatuck Valley Community College in Waterbury.
Also to be reviewed are facets contributing to the quality of life in Watertown, its real estate value and selling points and economic development.
Filming and production is expected to take place sometime during the month of October and the video will be available upon completion on Watertown's municipal website.
