Boyse is also a rural Wellman resident with her husband Todd and their two boys, who attend Wellman Elementary School.
Boyse is currently working out of her van and a temporary office at Buckwalter Motors. Her open hours at the car sales office are 3 to 6 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Boyse said she is looking forward to moving into the YMCA facility at the Parkside Activity Center, scheduled for completion this fall. Boyce is now focusing on a YMCA membership drive that includes contacting area businesses and speaking before service groups. Any organizations that would like her to make a presentation at their meetings can contact her at 319-653-1620,
Boyse is developing tentative programs for when the facility opens that include exercise classes, after-school programs, adult basketball and volleyball leagues. And arts and crafts for children.
The YMCA will be located on the west side of the two-story Center, a $5.8 million city-owned facility that will also include a childcare center for 70 children and a community room seating more than 300.
The "Y" will have a walking track, game room. Locker rooms, gym and a wellness center with free weights, weight machines and cardio equipment.
Though there is no pool, Boyse said a Wellman membership will be honored at the Washington YMCA pool.
The current charter memberships will waive the maintenance fees that will be charged later on. The current one-year membership rates are $65 for ages 6 months to 12 years, $180 for ages 13 through 18, $324 for 19 and older, $480 for families (two adults and dependent children in the same household) and $396 for senior spouses.
