Watertown man elevated to 33rd degree as Mason
08/20/2009
BOSTON - Some 110 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Masons will be elevated to the 33rd Degree in a special ceremony in Boston on August 25.

The event will take place during the annual meeting of the Supreme Council of Scottish Rite Freemasonry.

Among those to be honored are three Connecticut Masons elected a year ago at the annual meeting in Providence, Rhode Island, including Ralph W. Rose, 99 Colonial Road, Watertown, who is a retired consultant in sales and marketing.

The others are Uric W. Manner, 40 Fir Grove Road, Manchester, I.T. architect; and Charles W. Yohe, 145 Cornwall Hollow Road, West Cornwall, retired product/marketing manager, SBC Communication.

The Thirty-third Degree is awarded for outstanding achievement within the fraternity or for contributions to others reflecting credit on freemasonry. The impressive ceremony will be held in the Hynes Convention Center.

A Vesper Service on Sunday afternoon, August 23, will open the three-day meeting, which will also include executive and general sessions at the Sheraton Boston Hotel and the Hynes Convention Center.

Supreme Council members will be joined by leading freemasons from throughout the United States and around the world.

In attendance will be more than 2,000 Thirty-third Degree Masons and their wives from the 15 Northeastern and Midwestern states comprising the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction.

Following the conferral of the Thirty-third Degree on August 25, the names of those who have been selected to receive the degree next year at Philadelphia will be announced.
