Marsha Starck Williams, 73, of Memphis, Tennessee, died Saturday, August 1, 2009 at Baptist hospital Memphis.
Services were held Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at the Atoka First United Methodist Church in Atoka, Tennessee. Graveside services will be held at a later date at Sharon Hill Cemetery in Kalona.
Marsha Starck Williams was born April 25, 1936 the daughter of Verne and Verva Lemley Arhart. She was a graduate of Charles City High School in Charles City, Iowa and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa. She worked at Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. She moved to Memphis and began working at Rhodes College where she became the Assistant to the Director of Alumni at Rhodes. Upon her retirement she moved to Atoka and became a member of Atoka First united Methodist Church where she was active in the JOY Group.
She is survived by her husband, Earnest Williams; two sons, Tim Starck of Germantown and Dr. Thomas Starck of Atoka; one brother Randy Arhart of Arkansas and two granddaughters.
A memorial fund has been established for Rhodes College.
