WESSON - Former Brookhaven midfielder Chris Lowman is looking forward to playing soccer for the Copiah-Lincoln Community College Wolfpack. Lowman has signed a scholarship with the Wolves.
Co-Lin coach Brian Moore said he was happy to have Lowman on the squad. "Chris is a good shooter on set plays. He can use either foot very well. He has power with both feet He's an offensive-minded player and he has good ball-handling skills, too."

"I'm looking forward to playing for Coach Moore," said Lowman. He plans to pursue a career in industrial maintenance at Co-Lin.

Lowman (5-10, 147) was in charge of kickoffs, extra points and field goals for the Ole Brook Panthers. He helped lead the football team to a runner-up finish in Division 6-4A and a berth in the state playoffs where the Panthers lost to West Jones in the second round. He was chosen Most Improved Player on the 2008 BHS squad. He was MVP in soccer.

His sister, Hannah, had intentions of playing for the Co-Lin women's team but opted for an academic scholarship at Southern Miss. The twins are the children of John and Linda Lowman.

Jake Errington, a forward/midfielder from Brookhaven, also has signed a soccer scholarship with Co-Lin. "Jake has very good speed," said Moore., "He will develop into a very good player."

Errington was Ole Brook's Most Valuable Offensive Player last season.

Andrew Sandoz of Warren Central also has joined the Pack as a goalkeeper.

Co-Lin recently signed a player from False River Academy New Roads, La., in forward/midfielder Ena Peebles. Her father, Ritchie, is a BHS graduate. "Ena can create offense for us," said Moore. "We need help on the offensive side."

Trey Woodham was recently hired to coach the Co-Lin men's team. Moore will coach the women's team.
