St. John's welcomes Fr. Tim Boekelman

Fr. Tim Boekelman took over pastoral duties at St. John's Catholic Church here and St. Malachy's in Madrid Tuesday, July 14, replacing Fr. Brian Danner who was reassigned to Milford in northwest Iowa.
Fr. Boekelman was raised in Algona and received a BS in math from Loras College, Dubuque. He received his Master of Divinity from St. Meinrad School of Theology in southern Indiana and later was awarded a Master of Science degree in guidance and counseling from Creighton University, Omaha.
Fr. Boekelman served parishes in Lake City and Lohrville for six years and was also pastor for the Moorland, Duncombe and Dayton parishes.
In addition to his pastoral duties during that time, Fr. Boekelman taught in the Catholic school for 20 years.
