Heartland hires customer relations, marketing manager
By Staff 07/13/2009
Steve Moses
Steve Moses has been hired as Heartland Consumers Power District's customer relations and marketing manager. He began his duties Monday, filling a position that has been vacant for the past two years.

A native of Madelia, Minn., Moses spent 35 years as utilities manager of Madelia Light & Power, from which he retired in June. According to John Knofczynski, Heartland manager of engineering and operations, Moses' primary role with Heartland will be to maintain contact with customers and coordinate Heartland's customer support activities.

"Steve brings 30 years of municipal system experience to Heartland and understands the challenges that small municipals face," Knofczynski said. "He will be a great addition."

Prior to his employment with Madelia Light & Power, Moses performed his line studies at Jackson VoTech in Jackson, Minn., and earned his business degree at Mankato State University.

"I'm really excited about being able to do something else in the electric field other than what I've been doing for the past 35 years," said Moses. "This will be different for me, but I'm excited about meeting new people and seeing different utilties."

Moses and his wife Jean, a labor and delivery nurse with Sioux Valley Hospital in New Ulm, Minn., have two sons, Dan (29) and Matt (24).
