River Junction Tractor Ride

The River Junction Tractor Show will be July 10 at the Gerald Morgan Residence in River Junction. ÊIt will feature 175 vintage tractors including a variety of makes and models. ÊBob Viner of Lone Tree will display miniature crawlers and Dug Hastings of West Branch will show toy implements and tractors that they made.
A Farmers Supper will be held in Walker Park, in River Junction, next to the Morgan home, at 6:00 PM. ÊThe meal will include pork loin, baked potato, tossed salad, dinner roll. dessert, and drink for $8.00 for adults and $4.00 for children (5-9).
At 6:45 the River Junction Theatre will present a silent movie "The Bank Robbery". ÊThe Senior Citizen's Drill Team from Iowa City will perform and there will be other surprises for entertainment.
On Saturday, July 11, the tractors leave River Junction at 8:00 a.m. ÊThey go through Riverside and head to Kalona. At 9:00 they will pass by the Pleasant View Nursing home and the go to downtown Kalona for morning break. ÊThe tractors will be in downtown Kalona until 10:30 when they head on to Steve and Jan Weeber's home at 4892 Kansas Av SW Iowa City, Iowa for lunch. ÊThe ÊMid-Prairie FFA will serve lunch for $7.00. ÊThe tractors leave Weeber's at 1:00 and go to Classic Thunder Limousine at HW22 and Vine Avenue for afternoon stop for their grand opening. ÊÊThe tractors return to River Junction at 4:00 p.m.
This event is sponsored by the Lone Tree Lions Club. ÊIt is a bennifit for the Lone Tree and the Johnson County Historical Societies and the Lone Tree Lions Club. ÊThe public is invited to all the activies. ÊFor questions about the event contact Gerald Morgan at 319-629-5296.
