HARLAN -- Myrtue Medical Center officials are projecting the new Petersen Family Wellness Center and Lewis Family Aquatic Complex may be open on or near July 1, 2010. The original estimated date of April 2010 has been extended several months due to rain hampering construction.
      Eleven more areas of construction work were approved in bid package number four by the MMC Board of Trustees on Tuesday morning. Three scopes of work in the fourth bid package - membrane roofing, ceramic tile and resilient flooring - will be re-bid. The resilient flooring scope will be split between floor types in order to receive a better representation from the bidders. Chuck Assman, director of facilities at MMC, presented the bid recommendations to the board.

      * Sports equipment - Sports Construction Midwest, Coralville, $49,650
      * Raquetball courts - Anderson Ladd, St. Paul, Minn., $52,665
      * Fire protection - Blackhawk Automatic Sprinkler, Waterloo, $76,860
      The next regular scheduled MMC Board of Trustees meeting is slated for Tuesday, July 28 at 7:30 a.m. in the Auble Conference Center at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan.
