Wethersfield is a community like no other.......We owe our gratitude not only to our teachers but also to our families, religious leaders scout leaders, coaches and others," she said.
In an interview last week, Preysner emphasized her love of Wethersfield.
"It's was a great place to grow up," she said.
Preysner said Wethersfield is not just another small town.
As a history lover, she said she appreciated so many chances to learn at museums and is excited about the 375th celebration.
Preysner said she also appreciates the school system and especially the chance to start playing flute in 5th grade.
"I've always appreciated the music program," she said.
Music was one of her main activities and hobbies throughout her academic days and she was involved in marching band, concert band and honors wind ensemble, among others. She has also been part of the orchestra pit for the Wethersfield Teen Theatre Company and was chosen for the 2008 CT Music Educator's Association Northern Regional Festival Orchestra as well as other special events.
Preysner also loves to read, especially the classics such as "Grapes of Wrath" and "Pride and Prejudice."
She was a reader for the 2007 Nutmeg Book Award Committee, one of only two students on a committee read and evaluated over 100 children's novels and selected ten nominees for the final list that was then voted on by Connecticut elementary grade students She has also been co-leader for the Pizza and Pages book group at Wethersfield Public Library for elementary grade readers.
Preysner is also involved in First Church of Christ, where she has participated in the worship team, as created a run bilingual English-Spanish PowerPoint presentations and utilized her musical abilities .
In addition, Preysner has played field hockey in high school and was an all-star scholar athlete and enjoys running.
In the fall she will attend Trinity College, Hartford, where she has been accepted into the Guided Studies program in Western Civilization.
She said she will stay on campus but is thrilled to be so close to home.
"I'm happy I'm going to be close to my family and close to Wethersfield," Preysner said.
She is considering majors in History or English and plans to continue studying Spanish as well. She is considering a career in law, editing and publishing, or library science.
