The Optomap Retinal Exam
The Optomap Retinal Exam produces an ultra wide-field, high-resolution image of the retina. The image provides the optometrists at Jamie Rose Eyewear enhanced clinical information which facilitates the early detection, management and treatment of disorders and diseases evidenced in the retina such as detachment and tears, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration.
Additionally, the Optomap Retinal Exam may also indicate evidence of non-eye or systemic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes and certain cancers. The Optomap Retinal Exam will confirm that a retina is healthy. You, as the patient, will have the opportunity to review the images with the doctor. The image is permanent and can be compared with your future images captured at later exams.
The Optomap Retinal Exam is patient friendly, it is a quick and comfortable exam and captures the image in a quarter of a second. The Optomap Retinal Exam is non-invasive and there is no need for uncomfortable eye drops to dilate your pupils. Jamie Rose Eyewear is thrilled to offer this state-of-the-art technology and when you come in for your eye exam, you will be too. The Optomap Retinal Exam was recently featured on The Doctors, a syndicated daytime talk show that airs throughout North American which according to a recent New York Times article draws over 2 million viewers. If you did not have a chance to watch the segment, it is available at optomap.com.
