There is no charge for spectators but there will be plenty of chances to purchase items such as hot dogs, hamburgers and ice cream to benefit the event, since proceeds will go to the town's summer concert series, the Connecticut Association of Foster and Adoptive Parents and automotive scholarships at a nearby school. The organization will also put out a jar for the town's fuel bank.
"Hopefully we'll make a profit on our show this year," Gilbert said.
This will be the third year the club has hosted the event. Last year about 200 cars were in the show. Members of the club will not be a part of the contests but will also line up their vehicles along Elm Street.
Those who want to enter a car in the show can do so for $8. Drive-ins are welcome and there is no restrictions or age requirement on the cares.
"It's everything from antiques to Subaru's," Gilbert said.
Dash plaques will be available for the first 100 entries, more than 20 trophies and a mayor's choice award will be given,
The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday June 7 at the park on Elm Street (Route 160). Rain Date is June 14.
