    Ashley Beatty to tour Austria

    Ashley Beatty, 16 of Washington, daughter of Mark and Susan Beatty, grandparents of Merlin and Bev Zwicki of Washington and Robert and Rachel Beatty of Mt. Pleasant will be participating with the 2009 Preucil School String Orchestra tour that is traveling to Austria from June 22 - July 1, 2009 under the direction of Ms. Sonja Zeithamel and Ms. Doris Preucil, Directors. Their trip will include performances at Hauptschule Falkstrasse in Innsbruck, Bad Ischl Music Pavilion in Salzburg, Graz as part of the American Celebration of Music in Austria and a Concert in the Parish Church of Albrechtsberg in Albrechtsberg.
    Ashley is a sophomore at Iowa Mennonite School and has played violin since she was three. Her violin instructor is Gwen Ying of Washington. She participates in choir at IMS, sings in a trio with her sisters under the direction of Louise Frakes and plays oboe for the Washington Municipal Band.
    There will be a Bon Voyage Concert at 5:30 p.m., June 19, 2009 at the Black Hawk mini park, corner of Washington and Dubuque Streets in downtown Iowa City - as part of the Summer of the Arts Music orchestra.
