Woodbury Commission Invites Residents
to Meeting on POCD
By: Jaimie Cura 04/08/2009
WOODBURY - A public meeting on the Plan of Conservation and Development will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 16, at the Annex Conference Room, 297 Main St. South.

The POCD is up for renewal this year. Bill Scanlan, the consultant working on the POCD, informed the Planning Commission of the public meeting's date at the planners Wednesday, April 1, meeting.

Mr. Scanlan said he will deliver a short presentation on four sections of the POCD he discussed at past Planning Commission meetings: open space, municipal facilities, economic development and housing and residential development.

Those in attendance will have the opportunity to make comments and suggestions on the POCD.

A POCD is an advisory document, intended to guide the town's responses to statutory mandates, land use controls, municipal investments and other town functions, according to the town website.

During privilege of the floor, Attorney Gail McTaggart, on behalf of Carole Winer, discussed a possible application for a country inn, restaurant and small antiques boutique within an inn, at the location of Country Loft Antiques, 557 Main St. South.

The 19-acre property consists of an existing home and barn.

An application has not been filed with the town; Ms. Winer is seeking information prior to filling out an application.

No action was taken on the Marra request for one driveway to serve four dwellings at an 11-lot subdivision on Scuppo Road.

The commissioners are waiting for additional information pertaining to maps.

Acceptance of a road at the Marra subdivision was tabled because Land-Tech, the consulting agency, is reviewing the matter, Planning Commission Chairman Andy Peklo, III, reported.

The acceptance of a road at the Hesseky Views subdivision was tabled.

No action was taken on the Trofa request for a bond reduction for work done on Orchard Avenue and Church Hill Road. Mr. Peklo said he is waiting for a report from Land-Tech.

A map filing extension was approved for Kevin Starchak's approved project, a two-lot subdivision at 96 Saw Pit Hill Rd.

Mr. Peklo said the applicant is aware that the extension is the last one the agency can approve.

The next Planning Commission meeting will take place at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 15, at the Annex Conference Room.
