Larissa and Erik Iverson
Larissa and Erik Iverson
Larissa Jo Curtis and Erik Trygve Iverson were united in marriage, December 27, 2008 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Pastor Rob Norris-Weber, Erik's youth pastor, officiated.
Parents of the couple are Gary and Becky Curtis of Iowa City and Iver and Jeanne Iverson of Golden Valley, Minnesota.
The groom escorted in the couple's mothers to the song, "We Can Never Quite Let Go", written for the couple by the bride's mother.
Matron of honor Tiffany Strande, sister of the bride, attended the bride. Attendants were Gretchen Klaus, Carissa Stout, Stephanie Beeler, Kirsten Plahn and Kathryn Liebenow. They wore ankle length, apple-red; satin dresses and carried a single white calla lily. Flower girls were Larissa and Beatrice Martin and Aletta Strande, nieces of the bride. They carried baskets of rose petals made by their grandmother.
Best man was Micah Danielson. Groomsmen were Matt Hazelton, Shane Brown, Hans Kuder, Pat Pfister and Luke Lorenz, all friends of the groom. Ring bearers were Tanner Johnson and Caleb and Mason Ertel, nephews of the groom.
The bride wore a pearl necklace that had belonged to a great-great-great-aunt, Laura Pascal. Her grandmother, Margaret Curtis, made her veil. She carried a bouquet of red calla lilies.
Music was provided by Andrew Stenson, friend of the couple; a string octet of Erik Malmquist, Bri Wassink, Lindsey Bulger, Margit Severson, Ian Cawley, Ryan Fordice, Jeff Weston, and Lars-Erik Larson. All in attendance sang the hymn "Lord of All Hopefulness" as it had special meaning for both extended families.
Gift and guest book attendants were Braden Johnson, nephew of the groom and Andi Schoephoerster, cousin of the groom. Ushers were Mark Schoephoerster, cousin of the groom and Ben Knutson, Ian Cawley and Gavin White, friends of the couple.
Special guests were Donald "Bud" Wieck and Margaret Curtis, grandparents of the bride and Art and Ede Magedanz, grandparents of the groom.
A reception was held at the historic James J. Hill Reference Library in St. Paul hosted by the groom's uncle and aunt, Steve and Sue Magedanz.
The couple are both graduates of Luther College. The bride in 2006 with a degree in music education and the groom in 2008 with a degree in English education. Both are teaching at the American School of Dubai and reside in Dubai City, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
