GROTON, Conn. - Highly acclaimed comedian, Corey Manning, will perform at Naval Submarine Base New London as he headlines an African American History Month presentation in the base's Dealey Center Theater, Thursday, February 26, at 3 p.m.
The base Command Managed Equal Opportunity is coordinating the free event which is open to all individuals with authorized access to Naval Submarine Base New London.
Theater doors open at 2:30 p.m.
An up and coming talent, Manning quickly found a home on the comedy scene delivering high-energy entertainment with a distinctive style. In 2006, Manning was featured in Jamie Foxx's "LAFFAPALOOZA! New Faces of Comedy," a special event on cable television's Comedy Central network. Manning now co-hosts "Wake Up, Live!!! With Corey and Drea," on Boston Neighborhood Network Television.
In addition to his comedy career, Manning has more than 15 years of experience facilitating workshops, and providing educational and social developmental services to youth and adults. He served as an AmeriCorp volunteer with North Carolina Public Allies, a ten-month apprenticeship program that gives young adults the opportunity to provide direct service to youth in multiple towns of North Carolina.
For more information about the event, contact MAC Caronan at 694-1516.
