The Chetek Fire Department was called to the scene of a house fire at 2862 Seventh Ave. in rural Chetek Tuesday at approximately 9:30 a.m.
According to Katrina Dicks, who was living in the home with her three children, David, Kali and Damen, no one was in the house at the time of the fire. The owner of the property, Jeff Paulson, of Chetek, saw the house burning and called the fire department. One dog is believed to have been killed in the blaze.

Pictured above, a main beam is all that was left standing from the home after the fire. Below, a portion of the roof that fell into the basement continued to burn after firefighters left the scene. Dicks says she is looking into options for temporary housing for the family.
