WOODBURY - The Woodbury Scholarship Fund raised a record $81,750 this year, which will assist Woodbury students pursuing study beyond high school.Beginning in 1975 with $200, the Woodbury Scholarship Fund has made more than 600 scholarship grants; has grown gift assets through investment; receives appreciated stock, uncashed IRAs and bequests, often with donor tax advantage; qualifies for matching funds; manages education funds for other organizations; and helps people celebrate occasions and memorialize loved ones through endowments.To assist residents, a list of dedicated endowment funds appears at the bottom of the fund's annual appeal letter.
More than one-third of Woodbury's winners have chosen to study in Connecticut.
At the University of Connecticut will be Nathan Bruce, coastal studies; Lauren Bucknam, biological science; Matthew Burdick, business; Kathleen Carey, pre-veterinary; Lindsay Greatorex, psychology; Rebecca Hawley, business; Jonathan Heaven, mechanical engineering; Hayley Love, business administration; Richard Ruesch, allied health; Lauren Saalmuller, English; Jaclyn Schulp, international business; Carter Scruggs, health care management; and Colby Scruggs, finance.
Before returning to Mount Holyoke College, Elizabeth Robinson will continue her study of biochemistry at Naugatuck Valley Community College, joined by Jamie Blanchet in graphic design and Enid Vasquez, education and English as a second language.
At the University of Hartford's Hart School of Music will be Gabrielle Brazauskas, studying music.
At Post College, Jonathan Daly is studying Spanish and education. Fairfield University has Michael Kenney, IV, in political science and Rachel Perrucci in bio-chemistry and premedical study.
Rebecca Larkin is studying business at Central Connecticut State University, and Justin Michaud, criminal justice at Western Connecticut State University. At Sacred Heart University, Kathleen Nadolny is studying education.
In Massachusetts, Laleh Golafshani is at Massachusetts College of Art, studying illustration; Brittany Kaminski, Stonehill College, sociology, Spanish and criminology; Margaret Mennon, Clark University, graphic design and mathematics; Amanda Mitchell, Springfield College, communication disorders; Samantha Peters, Endicott College, Spanish; Catherine Taylor, Tufts University, economics and biological anthropology; and Arya Saniee, Northeastern University, pre-medical.

In Vermont, Jason Schulp is studying aviation flight operations at Daniel Webster College, and Jonathan Sherman is in computer engineering technology at Vermont Technical College.
