NEWTOWN - The Classic Nights Car Club of Monroe is hosting its seventh annual Going Back in Time Classic Car Show and Sock Hop from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, August 9, at Lockwood Lodge at Ashlar, 139 Toddy Hill Rd.
Admission is free and "oldies" will be provided by local DJs Seth Carley and Mark Edwards. Participants may stroll the grounds and meet the owners of the unique classic and antique cars on display.
Greyhound Rescue and Rehabilitation, a non-profit organization of volunteers, will greet everyone with their "furry friends" to help raise public awareness about ex-racing Greyhounds.
The Greyhounds are excellent pets and companions and can be adopted through the organization. Food and beverages will be available for purchase during the show.
Tours of Ashlar of Newtown and the adjacent assisted living facility, Lockwood Lodge, will be offered.
For those who plan to enter a car into the competition, pre-registration is not required, and each one of the first 50 cars to register that day will receive a complimentary dash plaque.
The cutoff year is 1980, so cars manufactured after that date are not eligible to enter the competition.
In the event of inclement weather, the show will be canceled, and there is no rain date scheduled.
Those seeking additional information may call Peggy Loulis at 203-364-3177 or 203-268-1111.
