Born September 27, 1919, in Clarion County, he was the son of Matson Adam and Eva (Buzzard) Craig.
Mr. Craig attended Con-neration Elementary School.
He married Garnet E. Gallagher on March 14, 1940, in Rimersburg. She survives.
Mr. Craig served with the United States Army Infantry in Luzon in the Philippine Islands during World War II.
He retired from the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1980 after 38 years as a trackman.
Mr. Craig was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Reidsburg.
He was also a member of the Moose of Clarion, American Legion Post of Parker and the National Rifle Association.
Mr. Craig enjoyed hunting every year with his sons.
He was an accomplished musician and played the violin, guitar and the mandolin in such local bands as the "Stardusters" and "Just Plain Country."
Mr. Craig was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Carl T. Craig and his wife, Gloria, of Shippenville, Nelson E. Craig and his wife, Karen, of Shippenville and Daniel R. Craig and his wife, Sylvia, of Sligo; three daughters, C. Diane Cratty and her husband, Larry, of Parker, Donna F. Blauser and her husband, David, of Parker and Bonnie J. Elder and her husband, Alex, of Parker; 19 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchild-ren; and a sister-in-law, Carrie Craig of Sligo.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Craig was preceded in death by a grandson, Ryan T. Craig on April 24, 2008; two sisters, Evelyn Bowser and Dorothy Horner; two brothers, Clifford Craig and Matson Craig; a half-sister, Della Hickey; and a half-brother, George Craig.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 27, 2008, at the Richard D. Hillis Funeral Home in Rimersburg with the Rev. Daniel R. Myers, pastor of the Mt. Joy United Methodist Charge, and the Rev. Mark Carpenter, pastor of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Emlenton, officiating.
Interment was in the Rimersburg Cemetery with full military honors being accorded by members of the Rimersburg VFW and American Legion ceremonial squad.
