Family gets their dogs back

Debbie Manfredi called it a miracle.
Four days after her family's two dogs disappeared, Manfredi was on the phone and looking out the window about 3 p.m. Wednesday when she saw Bella, a yellow lab, and Linda, a brindle boxer/lab mix, running toward her house in Burton.
Before Wednesday, the two dogs were last seen at 9 a.m. Sunday in the area of Sunrise Farm on Route 87.
The four days were especially hard on Debbie's 17-year-old son, Ryan, who suffers from autism.
Ryan refers to the dogs as his two best friends, Debbie said.
While the dogs were missing, he would stand by the window for hours, blowing a whistle while waiting for the return of the family pets.
He had been asking his mother whether the dogs were in heaven.
After returning, the dogs looked thin and were hungry, Debbie said. She did not know where they had been.
"My son is very happy, and I thank everyone who has helped us and who has prayed for us," she said, adding that she had gotten plenty of calls from people she didn't know saying they were praying for the family.
"It was a very emotional moment. I just looked out the window, and there they were," she said. "It was a miracle."

dogs
I am so glad to hear the family got their doggies back. Sometimes they seem to take a wrong turn and just get lost. How wonderful that these dogs are home again.

Dogs come home
I am just so glad that there was a follow up story with a happy ending. I am a pet lover and so many times there's never a follow up with what happened to them. I just hope for the best. I believe in miracles and I just want the family to know that I am happy for them, and especially for Ryan. Kudos for the follow up Nick.
