University of Nebraska at Omaha art professor Russ Nordman will exhibit his art at the Council Bluffs Public Library Thursday through Sunday, Dec. 9.

The exhibit, called "Combines," consists of collages exploring Nordman's fascination with machines, satellites and Iowa agricultural architecture. The digital collages are various reconfigurations of grain elevators, farm buildings and other Iowa architecture.

Nordman was born in Charles City in 1960 and received his degree from the University of Iowa in 1991. He became a studio manager for internationally acclaimed video artist Bill Viola, assisting on numerous works and exhibitions, including exhibitions at the Tate Gallery, the Van Abbe Museum in the Netherlands and at the American Center in Paris.

Since 2002, Nordman has been an assistant professor of intermedia and digital art at UNO. His work has been exhibited at the California Museum of Photography, the Des Moines Art Center, Experimental Intermedia NY and the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts in Omaha. Nordman will offer a lecture on his artwork Thursday at 7 p.m. in conjunction with the exhibit's opening at the library at 400 Willow Ave.
