A young child was in protective custody after Council Bluffs police learned the boy's mother had bitten him.
Officers were called to Alegent Health Mercy Hospital on Friday after a Department of Human Services worker called police because the little boy had a bite mark on his left forearm. The child's mother had taken him to the hospital to have his chin looked at after he fell out of his stroller.
According to police reports, officers asked the woman about the bite mark, and she told them he had been biting her so she bit him back in an effort to get him to stop, and as punishment.
No charges were filed.
