Vera Belanger
BRISTOL - Vera (McLaugh-lin) Belanger, 91, of Bristol, died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006 at Shady Oaks Assisted Liv-ing. Vera was the family ma-triarch and was born in Chap-man, Maine, June 6, 1915 and was a daughter of the late Merton and Nellie (Shorey) McLaugh-lin. She moved to Bristol in 1951 and was employed at the Shady Oaks Assisted Living Rest Home from 1969 until her retirement. Vera is survived by two sons, Dale Belanger and his friend, Patricia Damiano, of Bristol and Vernon Belanger and his wife, Kay, of Unio-nville; a daughter, Deborah Jawin-Sheak and her husband, Stephen Sheak, of Harwinton; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Gary Belanger, and a daughter, Adrienne Perron. Vera's family would like to thank granddaughter Lisa Monico, the staff at Shady Oaks Assisted Living, Vitas Hospice and the Bristol Visiting Nurse Association for their wonderful care. Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 3 at 10 a.m. at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday between 6 and 8 p.m. Mem-orial donations may be made to the American Lung Asso-ciation, 45 Ash St., East Hart-ford, CT 06108 or the Ameri-can Heart Association, 2550 US Highway No. 1, North Brunswick, NJ 08902-4301.
