Watertown Police have arrested a woman who allegedly used stolen identification to illicitly rent DVDs under someone else's name.Amanda Fiorillo, 22, of 54 Sylvan Lake Road in Oakville was arrested at 11:15 p.m. Monday, August 7 on the charges of three counts of sixth-degree larceny and three counts of third-degree forgery. According to Lt. Robert "Herm" Desena of the detective bureau, Watertown Police received a complaint on March 9 from a local resident who claimed that while employed at Watertown K-Mart on Straits Turnpike, someone had stolen her wallet including cash and several items of personal ID such as a driver's license and Blockbuster Video card. On April 4, Detective Lisa Scannell was made aware that Ms. Fiorillo had failed to return five rental DVDs from Blockbuster Video on Main Street and that in renting the DVDs had utilized the victim's stolen Blockbuster Video card. Video surveillance showed a female suspect conducting the transaction using the victim's identification. In viewing the video, both police and the victim identified Ms. Fiorillo, a former co-worker at K-Mart, engaging in the suspect transaction. Detective Scannell applied for a warrant and arrested Ms. Fiorillo. Ms. Fiorillo was released on a $2,500 bond with a court date of August 22.
